cross = angry!

so i've been tutoring this autistic boy for a few months now
it's a pretty easy job, all i do is read a book with him and get him to answer in complete sentences and do some reading comprehension.
easy money.
but sometimes working with these kids can be hard because their minds just don't work the way we do, and it's hard to explain things to them sometimes, they just don't get it.

today, we read a book about thomas the tank engine
and the word "cross" came up, so i asked him:
“do you know what cross means??”
he said: “cross the road!”
“yes good! and what else??”
“um…..cross the bridge…???”
“ok good…… but it also means something else.. something you feel… do you know?”
“i don’t know”
“ok. cross means angry”
“mm…cross means angry…” *nod nod*

(we read more and find out that thomas is cross because he could not find the friends that were hiding)

“ok so why was thomas cross?”
“cross means cross the road”
“no in this book cross means angry. so why was thomas cross?”
“because he was angry?”
“ok…….so why was he angry?”
“because……he could not cross the road……”
“………………………………………”

he just couldn't understand why cross means angry, and not cross the road.... or cross the bridge.....

前天去The Body Shop想買個粉餅之類的
去結帳時店員說: "You know, our skin care products are buy two get one free!"
"oh really...."
看我在猶豫她馬上拿出了幾瓶 testers 讓我試用
真糟糕
i REALLY need to learn to say NO THANK YOU!!
結帳後的價錢是 $x7.18
我的包包裡多了一個粉餅加三瓶乳液 (it IS buy two get one free.....)

星期天去燙頭髮也一樣
"妳要順便護髮嗎? 這樣燙很傷髮質喔!!"
"喔...好啊~~"

"那要買一瓶髮蠟嗎? 我們有新產品喔! 專門給捲髮用的!!"
"嗯...也好~"

結帳後燙髮加護髮加髮蠟是 $x01.46
貴到我已經主動變成曼都的VIP囉~
嘿~ 下次燙髮打九折! XD

**回到家後發現我 "捲髮專用" 的髮蠟多達九瓶!!
用來用去也還不就那一瓶... 囧

so people have been asking me what i've been doing during this lovely reading break, with all the sunshine and all.....
well~
I'VE BEEN SICK! *sniff*
i got food poisoning from this egg (***edit) that i didn't cook properly or something..... so i've been throwing up everything i've been eating since the beginning of the week, and i've been in bed this whole time sleeping and feeling weak since i have no food in me..... usually i'd say all this sleeping is nice but the vomiting is really hurting....
i am however, feeling better now, and started to eat some food.... fingers crossed that it's not coming out! :(
urgh... reading break WASTED

***edit: so my friend called me yesterday and said she got food poisoned too, so maybe it wasn't my egg, maybe it was the restaurant we went to on monday.... i guess i will never know....

SaiZ

今天終於吃到了嚮往已久的SaiZ
真的很好吃!
可是隔壁桌沒家教的小孩們打打鬧鬧的讓人很想翻桌 ($^@!&$^@!%^@!$&)
加上服務不怎麼樣所以有還是有小小扣分....

前菜上來太餓了忘了照相......
是很好吃的beef tataki!


some sort of sushi with ham, cream cheese and mango... 很特別可是沒有驚豔到...

roasted duck breast.... 很嫩!! 加上甜甜的orange balsamic sauce... 好吃~

yam fries.... 炸得很酥很脆很好吃!

tuna crepe... 裡面料超多整個快炸開了.... 加上上面[一坨看來不起眼]的魚子醬還有wasabi mayo!!!! 歐買嘎~

green tea and orange creme brulee.... 抹茶的讚! i love anything matcha.... including this one :)

可是不要肚子餓的時候去.....

荷包很扁...可是肚子很飽! :)
最好吃的是最後去的Quattro on Fourth(Dine Out Menu)和Bistro Pastis (Dine Out Menu)

Bistro Pastis好吃到會流下感動的眼淚.....
