maybe they worked harder before to collect more good karma?i wonder about the same thing, too.
Not sure if you believe in 前世, sometimes I just guess maybe they collected lots in previous life.You are /not/ an ass. Whatever future you might have could depend on what you do now. You can have good karma in this life, too.
i should start doing some good then :)
